Public Notice – Permissive Tax Exemption

Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 990, 2026 Pursuant to section 227 of the Community Charter, public notice is given that Council for the Village of Warfield has given first and second readings to “Village of Warfield Permissive Tax Exemption 2027–2029 Bylaw No. 990, 2026” and will consider the adoption of the Bylaw at its Regular Council Meeting to be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The proposed bylaw would exempt 100% of the land and improvements for the properties listed below from property taxation for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 taxation years. The properties are owned by the Trail Association for Community Living. A copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected at the Village Office, 555 Schofield Highway, Trail, BC, during regular office hours, or by clicking here. Notice of Public Hearing Proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 989, 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to s.94 of the Community Charter and s.464 of the Local Government Act that a Public Hearing will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, 10 August 2026 to allow Council to receive public input on Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 989, 2026. This hearing will be conducted in person in Council Chambers at the Warfield Municipal Building, 555 Schofield Highway. Anyone wishing to participate may do so in person. Written submissions can be emailed to info@warfield.ca. Purpose: A Zoning Amendment Bylaw to update the list of Development Permit Exemptions. Local Government Climate Action Program (LGCAP) Survey – 2025

The Village has committed to reduce its carbon footprint and has signed the B.C. Climate Action Charter with the ultimate goal of becoming carbon neutral.  The Local Government Climate Action Program (LGCAP) supports this goal and provides funding to local governments to pursue projects that ultimately reduce carbon production.  Each year, the Village completes a survey that is intended to demonstrate action taken as well as to identify areas to address in the future.
