As COVID-19 has led to panic buying of toilet paper and disinfecting wipes, the pandemic has taken a toll on the Village of Warfield’s sewer system.
The Village is urging people to ONLY flush toilet paper, and to throw other products (ie. wet wipes, baby wipes, cosmetic wipes, bathroom cleaning wipes, moist toilet tissues and paper towel), which do not break down well, into the garbage.
ALL type of wipes and even those labelled “flushable” will clog pipes and interfere with sewage collection and treatment.
We ask residents to cooperate and do not flush anything other than toilet paper.
