The Village of Warfield has 6 community parks available to the public to have fun and enjoy.
Community Parks
Village Square Park
Located behind the Village of Warfield Community Hall, the Village Square Park is a family favourite with the firetruck playground, slide ride and BBQ picnic area. Just another 1073 steps and 15 minute you can walk to nearby Byron Street Park.
Kootenay Savings Water Park
In the summer this is the place to be in the Village of Warfield. As part of our Jubilee Celebration, the Warfield Centennial Pool was modernized with the addition of two waterslides and a spray park. The adjoining playground was retrofitted with all new equipment and it is now known as the Kootenay Savings Water Park.
Dickens Street Park
Dickens Street Park has three tiers of playground and equipment and playing fields.
The Dickens Park Disc Golf Course, opened in the summer of 2022, was made available by a $10,000 grant from the Columbia Basin Trust with assistance of the Village of Warfield and Warfield Youth Action network.
Disc Golf is like traditional golf but played with a disc rather than a golf ball. The discs are similar to frisbees but are designed specifically for speed, distance, accuracy, and turn, based on spin rotation by either forehand or backhand.
The Dickens Park Disc Golf Course is:
- 9-hole par three course
- Total distance of 1098 feet
- A wooded technical course located in a treed area
- Playable in approximately 30 minutes
- Not cart friendly
- No restroom
- No dogs allowed
- Players assume all risks
- Tee boxes are artificially turfed
The course has a large sign at the number one tee box explaining the rules of disc golf, distances of each hole, directional signs to guide players along footpaths between holes and each basket has an arrow showing the direction to the next tee box.
The course is posted on UDISC, a free app for smartphones and tablets with lots of features, including an aerial map with multiple views of the course layout and the ability to follow players from basket to basket using GPS technology. Players can also post their scores on the app and compare with others who have posted their scores.
Muzzin Park
Muzzin Park is named after long standing Mayor Isidore Muzzin. Another 902 steps and 11 minutes takes you to Dickens Street Park.
French Street Park
French Street Park is located in Annable at the base of the Village of Warfield. It to boasts new equipment and a basketball court for all to enjoy!
Byron Street Park
Located at the top of the Village of Warfield is Byron Park. A 15 minute walk of a 1073 steps to Warfield Community Hall.
Linking the parks of the Village of Warfield is a network of trails and pathways. Arnold Lauriente Way, Wagon Trail Road, Beaver Bend and the Rail Bed are walking routes connecting Lower and Upper Warfield, Emerald Ridge and Annable.
The Trans Canada Trail bisects the Village of Warfield, winding its way from Annable to the Wagon Road. Its easy to get around the community by foot. Get active and challenge yourself on all the walking routes!
